Johnny Henderson Park
Johnny Henderson Family Park is a great part of Enterprise Alabama. Home to a beautiful lake and walking trails that are accessible to all ages. While walking along this lake you can spot beautiful wildlife ranging from geese, ducks, squirrels, and even the occasional turtle. Walking along these trails you’ll be greeted by friendly people also enjoying the beauty of Henderson Park. Along with these trails, there's a playground for younger kids and basketball and other sports-related activities for older children.
When I first moved to Alabama, I was only thirteen and found it hard to find things I enjoyed doing in such a small town. When I found out about “Henderson Park” my family and I would go walk these trails to get some well-needed time within nature. Now that I’ve grown older I find this park to be relaxing and perfect for getting some time away from the busy college life
Lake Tom
Lake Tom is just one of three interconnected lakes within the neighborhood of Gateway Estates. Perfect for those who love fishing or boating. The Housing Association of Gateway takes care of all three lakes and asks that no gas engines for boats be used on the lake so that it may remain clean and healthy. When not spending your time on the lake you can enjoy the tennis court and pavilion that the Association built.
As a nature enjoyer, I find Lake Tom to be a beautiful and relaxing area. While I do not fish or boat I like to sit on the benches or dock on the lake and feed the ducks. When I’m not doing that I am walking along the lakes to get my daily exercise as it can span a few miles across each lake. It is a nice relaxing spot that anyone can use.
Weevil Cards and Collectables
Weevil Cards and Collectables is a store specializing in card collectibles and tabletop games. When walking in one may be surprised by everything happening as they constantly run in-store events for the public. The workers are always welcoming and ready to teach people about new games or how to get invested in some of the hobbies that have events held.
I started to go to Weevil Cards and Collectables with my best friends when we first started to get into the card game Magic: The Gathering and the shop owners and workers welcomed us with open arms to teach us the game and help us build custom decks. The people also going to the shop are also welcoming and will invite you to join them for games even if you're brand new they are always willing to teach.
